Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!!

Some of you may not know but I have the greatest Mom in the world.

On this Mother's Day I would like to thank my Mom, without her I wouldn't be the person that I am today (and I think that I turned out pretty darn good). I get so many of my good qualities from her. Loving to laugh, creativity, drama, music, caring, the list could go on and on.

My Mom has done so much for me. I look back now and I have to apologize for not making it easy on her. She always had the best advice for band, drama, and my English papers; this list too could go on and on.

The other day as I was practicing the piano and my kids were trying to take my fingers off the keys, playing loudly at the other end of the piano, and trying to get me to do something else; I thought back to the good old days when that was me taking my mom fingers off the keys. Thanks mom for have a love of music and giving the example of providing music in the home. I didn't get that then, but I do now.

Not only has my Mom been there for me when I lived at home, she is always there for me now (just take a look at our phone bills). My Mom has been at the hospital for every one of my kids.

In short I would like to say Mom "Happy Mother's Day and I love you!"

My kids also have a little message for you.

A new start

I really thought that I would be good at blogging, but it turns out that I'm not really that good at it after all. It's been so long since my last post that if I tried to get all caught up I'll never get it all done. So I'm going to try and start new.

These are the most resent family photos. (I know they were taken last September, but still our family photos before that were taken before our last 2 kids were born, so they are our most update one:)

Hopefully we will have a lot more up to date photos taken since I started taking them myself.

I may play a little catchup. So far this year my oldest turn and 8 and was baptized. I now have a three year old and soon my baby will be one. Maybe I'll get around to posting about these in more details :)

Update

I always feel like I should have pictures to go with my post, so I wait until I have time to upload pictures, and I never have time to do that so I never post. So I thought that I would be brave and post without pictures.

Here is a update of our family.

Carter is loving the summer, we just got done with baseball and are in the last week of swimming lessons. He loves to play golf and can't wait for fall soccer. (If you can't tell he is really into the sports thing.) Carter has also started up piano lesson and has had 3 lessons already. He is having so much fun and has learned tons of song and has memorized most of them.

Kyler wants to be just like his big brother. During baseball season he wouldn't take off his glove. Which is funny because when his daddy was little he wouldn't take off his glove and got a staff infection on his thumb. So I hope he doesn't get a staff infection. But he is just like his daddy. Now that Carter is doing some golfing Kyler carries around his golf clubs.

Caleb is such a good baby. He loves to smile and being outdoors. You can probably guess the other stuff that he does all day. (Poop, sleep, eat, etc.)

Us grow- ups are just trying to keep up with the little ones.

Baby's Room

Here is a small peek into the baby's room that I got done just in the nick of time!!

He's Here!!!

Our little boy is finally here. Caleb Berry Ewell was born on April 6th at 7:50am, he was 18.5 inches and 7lbs. Everything went really well, even though my doctor about passed out during the c-section. Don't worry Brent caught him and helped him sit down before he hit the floor. He was able to recover and close. Through all the wiggling around during the last 9 months Caleb managed to wrap the cord around his neck a few times, so we where very glad that we were having a planned c-section. Everything was going well until the day before we were going to go home and his heart rate dropped for a minute and everyone panicked and almost rushed him to the NICU, but they all calmed down and they just put him on some antibiotics for a few days. I forgot to mention that He did spend and few hours in the NICU right after he was born for some breathing treatments that he didn't even need. (we're still not happy about that!) He was able to come home happy and healthy as can be on Saturday afternoon. A few days later we got a call from our pediatrician and Caleb's PKU test came back abnormal on his thyroid levels. So we had to get more blood work done, but all the results came back good. Everything is good now.

I am so glad that my parents and Brent's parents were there to take care of my kids while we were at the hospital. My mom even came and helped me out the next week when I came home. I am so glad she was there to help me out with the kids.

Ice Fishing

With the snow falling here in April I thought I would get around to posting pictures of my boys going ice fishing. My oldest had a blast when him and his dad and a friend entered a hunting and fishing contest. They made a long trek to the ice covered pond to fish and shot bunnies of the ice. They had a great time, gone all day, and catching some pretty big fish. When the day was over they packed up to head in for check-in. But instead of making it in on time to weigh in their fish, they got stuck for about 3 hours with no cell service. But through Prayer and Faith, their old toothless angle came and pulled them out. They missed check-in and was a little disappointed because Carter would have won the biggest fish of the day!

Well that didn't damper their spirits because the next week they went out again, different spot this time, and they even took my youngest. They all had a ball. And yes my biggest fear came true, my youngest fell into an ice fishing hole. Only one foot made it in the water, but it scared him pretty good. (Yes, my husband did leave the two boys alone at the time, the 7 year old in charge while he went to take care of something in the trees.) But in his defence his cousin (an adult) was right there to keep an eye on the two. Everyone seem to have a great time.

Birthdays!!!!!

I know that it has been a while and my boys' birthdays are well past but I thought that I would post some pictures about the big events. All Carter wanted was a Bakugan cake. (If you don't know what that is don't worry I didn't until a few months ago.) So here was my attempt at creating a Bakugan.

Carter also wanted cupcakes with blue frosting for his class treat. I'm sure his teacher loved me! I didn't take a picture of the cupcakes, but I did get a picture of Kyler finishing one off. Lets just say that I found blue everywhere after the fact (for about a week!).Carter really wanted a big friend party this year and I was just not up to it with the baby coming and all, so we decided to surprise him with tickets to the Jazz game the night of birthday. Boy was he surprised and couldn't wait for that night. Being frugal and a little tight on cash was were only able to get upper bowl tickets. But by some blessing from a stranger at the game we were able to sit on the 25 row. As we were walking into the game a man asked us if we had tickets to the game and we said "yes" then he asked if it was just the three of us and again we said "yes" and then he offered us three extra ticket that he had begging us to take them and telling us that were lower bowl and over a $100 a ticket. So we took them. (what else could we do!!)
The night just kept getting better and better. And to top it off it just happen to be the Jazz Bear Birthday also. Carter was so amazed that the Jazz Bear's Birthday was the same day as his.
And to make it the perfect night the Jazz won!!!

Kyler's Birthday came next and got to celebrate on several different days. The first celebration was at Grandpa and Grandma's on Super Bowl Sunday. That's why we went with a football cake for that day.

On his actual birthday we celebrated with a Moose cake, because Kyler loves moose. And when I mean he loves moose I mean he really loves them. He calls them "moo". And he can find every moose that we have in the house (I didn't realize how many we had), all day long he wants to watch moose movies and play the hunting game on the computer and hunt moose and because he can't quite use the computer on his own and makes his brother hunt while he watches.
He got a lot of fun gifts from everyone, so thank you. We spent hours putting together Lego's and golfing. Who knew I would have two boys that loved Lego's. And he also got a lawn mower to push around.

And a few weeks after his birthday My parents gave him probably one of his favorite gifts. They gave him a toy moose, fox, and wolf; a hat with a moose, a flash light and a moose blanket. I don't think that he put them down for a week.
