Disclaimer: If you read this you should know that my son is very serious about this and I would hate for his feelings to get hurt if he is made fun of. We have done our best at this And I hope you would as well.
Some of you may of heard the story of my son receiving a love letter at school last fall. Totally caught him off guard and he was sooooo embarrassed. It took me hours (no lie) to convince him it wasn't the end of the world. Well yesterday he brought home his first girl's phone number (him and the girl traded numbers). Now he claims it's not for him, his father thinks other wise. Here is the story he told me: First of all I should say that he and his dad have been talking about learning to speak Spanish, my son just wants to know how and it would help his dad at work to know some, for awhile now. Anyway, he got home from school and handed me a phone number on a small piece of paper and said that this is for dad. I asked what is was and he explained that it was a girl from school's number and that he had arranged that on a day with no work or school his dad and this girl were to meet and have Spanish lessons. It took everything I had to choke back the laughing. We think that the Spanish lessons are really for him and that his dad's lessons are the cover up. He has done a complete turn around from last fall. (by the way it is not the same girl.)
